A Better Hair Transplant is Worth the Trip!
Live outside the Twin Cities? HRI covers your flight and hotel so you can have your transplant at Minnesota's top-rated hair restoration clinic — and be back home the next day.
Flight or mileage, up to $200
Book your own travel to MSP — ranked the #1 airport in America, with direct flights from 130 domestic and 35 international cities. We reimburse up to $200.
Two free nights, on-site hotel
We book you at the Crowne Plaza MSP — attached to our clinic, with complimentary airport shuttle. No rental car needed.
Three days, start to finish
We perform procedures Tuesday through Saturday. For example, you can arrive Thursday, have your procedure Friday, fly home Saturday, and be back at work on Monday.
Meet the surgeons you're flying to
Hair restoration is permanent — the result comes down to the surgeon, not the zip code. These are the physicians behind every HRI procedure.

Flying home after a transplant
Air travel raises questions a local patient never has to think about. Straight answers:
Can I really fly the next day?
Yes — nearly all Hair by Air patients fly home the afternoon of day 3. The procedure uses only local anesthesia (no general sedation to recover from), there are no lifting or activity restrictions that affect sitting on a plane, and cabin pressure has no effect on the newly placed grafts.
Will people be able to tell at the airport?
At 24–48 hours you'll have tiny scabs at the graft sites. After FUT, the donor area will look unchanged. After FUE, there will be some mild redness in the donor area lasting 2–3 days. With your bandages and head covering, most people around you likely won't notice.
What about swelling?
Any swelling is usually mild, appears around days 2–4, and typically settles in the forehead area before fading on its own. We send you home with clear icing and sleeping-position instructions, plus anything else needed to keep it minimal while you travel.
Can I carry a bag or use overhead bins?
Keep it light for the first week — a small carry-on is fine, but avoid heavy lifting or straining overhead, so check a larger bag or ask for help stowing it under the seat.
What if my flight is delayed or cancelled?
Just call us — if travel trouble affects your procedure or post-op timing, we'll help you adjust and work out your hotel and scheduling. You can extend your stay at the hotel at a discounted rate.
Do I need someone to travel with me?
A companion isn't required — patients regularly do the trip solo — but you're welcome to bring someone, and they can stay with you in your covered hotel room at no extra charge.
