Dr. Louis Mariotti is a board-certified surgeon with more than three decades in medicine and over twenty years dedicated specifically to hair restoration. Dr. Mariotti brings a rare combination of surgical precision, academic rigor, and personal passion to every patient he treats.
Education & Training
Dr. Mariotti earned his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pennsylvania. He went on to complete advanced fellowship training in Hair Restoration Medicine and Surgery, and was an inaugural member of the first hospital-affiliated fellowship program in the country dedicated exclusively to hair restoration, with a particular emphasis on robotic transplantation technique.
Board Certifications
Dr. Mariotti is board certified in Facial Plastic and Head and Neck Surgery. His training and certifications span both the reconstructive and aesthetic sides of the specialty, giving him a comprehensive understanding of the facial and scalp anatomy that underlies natural, lasting results.
Clinical Expertise
Dr. Mariotti has performed hair restoration procedures using both Follicular Unit Excision (FUE) and Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT), including robotic-assisted techniques, allowing him to tailor his surgical approach to each patient's degree of hair loss, donor supply, and aesthetic goals.
Academic & Teaching Roles
Alongside his clinical work, Dr. Mariotti has maintained an active role in medical education throughout his career. He serves as an Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine and has taught residents through The Wright Center Family Practice Residency Program. He spent six years as a member of the AOCOO-HNS Board of Examiners, helping to prepare and administer board certification examinations, and was a featured lecturer at the AOCOO-HNS Annual Meeting for nine consecutive years. He has also lectured and trained fellow surgeons on hair restoration technique at facial plastic surgery conferences both nationally and internationally.
A Family Legacy
Dr. Mariotti's connection to hair restoration runs deeper than his medical training. He is a third-generation hair professional: his grandfather, a Sicilian-born master hairdresser, immigrated and founded a cosmetology school, and the family tradition was carried on by his uncle. That inherited appreciation for craft and detail continues to shape the way Dr. Mariotti approaches every hairline he designs.

When he isn't in the operating room, Dr. Mariotti is an accomplished furniture designer and master woodworker — a hobby that reflects the same precision, patience, and artistry he brings to his surgical work.
